Extended abstract submission
The Organising Committee for the 1st Australasian Exploration Geoscience Conference hosted by the Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists, the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia and Australian Institute of Geoscientists invites you to submit an extended abstract for your accepted presentation at the Conference, to be held at the International Convention Centre Sydney on 18 - 21 February 2018.
This Conference incorporates the 26th ASEG-PESA Geophysical Conference and Exhibition and the Eastern Australian Basin Symposium and will be home to the highest quality technical program with a focus on exploration.
Extended abstracts must be a maximum of 8 pages in length. Abstracts must be prepared using the AEGC 2018 extended abstract template.
The extended abstract will be published on a USB for the Conference and will be given to all delegates. As well, the extended abstracts will be available to ASEG and PESA members on their website after the Conference.

Submitting an extended abstract
All extended abstracts must be submitted online by 5.00pm AEST Friday 1 September 2017. Please plan your timetable for preparation and submission carefully.
Abstracts are to be submitted as Microsoft Word documents only, using the AEGC 2018 template below. Extended abstracts must not exceed 8 pages.Download the AEGC 2018 extended abstract template
We recommend that you use this template and save your abstract before uploading. Submissions that do not adhere to the requested format may be returned to the authors for re-submission.
How to submit an extended abstract
To submit an extended abstract, your initial abstract submission must have already been accepted for presentation at the Conference. All extended abstracts must be submitted electronically.
Prepare your abstract according to the submission guidelines and click the Submit Abstract button below.
- Sign in using the details from your original submission or follow the direct link to the submission portal provided in your presentation acceptance notification.
- Complete the online submission form
- Upload your extended abstract
- Save your submission as a draft for further editing or submit for review
How will I know that I have successfully uploaded my extended abstract?
Submitting an extended abstract involves two steps. Completion of the submission form and the submission of the abstract. Advice that your submission and file upload have been successful, will appear on your edit abstract screen as "submitted". You will also receive a confirmation email.All enquiries regarding abstracts should be emailed to the Conference Secretariat, email@example.com.

Terms and conditions
It is a condition of acceptance of the abstract that at least the presenting author must register to attend the Conference and present the paper either orally or participate within the dedicated poster sessions. Abstracts submitted before payment of registration are eligible for an offer of acceptance but final acceptance (and publication as a Conference abstract) requires registration and payment by the deadline of 31 October 2017. All presenting authors must attend at least the full day of their presentation. Submission of abstracts implies the author’s agreement to publish the abstract in all Conference publications including the website.
Acceptance of abstracts does not imply any payment from the Conference Committee. Authors must arrange and pay their own accommodation, travel etc. to attend the Conference. Acceptance or otherwise is at the discretion of the Conference Program Committee whose decision is final.
